Requirements for position:

• Education required:  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience required:  Minimum 5 years in a production/engineering environment.  CAD experience is a plus.
• Skills, knowledge or abilities:  Read, write & speak the English language fluently.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess strong computer skills. Experience in Microsoft Office.
• Automotive, military and aerospace experience helpful.
• ISO9000 auditing experience a plus.
• Requires strong organizational skills including the ability to effectively manage multiple programs, prioritize tasks and complete assignments within expected time frames.

SUMMARY

The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical and financial success of the programs to which they are assigned. Major objectives include managing the technical aspects of the project with respect to manufacturing feasibility and ease of assembly.  Completion of the project is expected to be within budget.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Composes projected processing and necessary tooling lineups
• Performs follow-up with customer to ensure the supplied product designs are compatible with company manufacturing processes.
• Works with Data Manager to log in all data received for feasibility studies. Tracks changes required to comply with manufacturing processes.
• Participates in the tool and fixture design/review process. Participates in the development of the design criteria and facilitates requisite feasibility and formability studies
• Reviews fastening methods for assembly and follows up with customer to facilitate optimal assembly conditions.
• Work with customer and technical experts to develop specific assembly parameters and validate through testing with manufacturing.
• Coordinates subcontract services and monitors their performance and costs.
• Addresses cost variances in a timely and effective manner and openly communicates to Program Manager.
• Responsible to ensure a thorough manufacturing package is prepared including all process sheets.  This package is then submitted to the Program Manager.
• Coordinates customer buyoff and secures the customer’s Process Sign-Offs.
• Provides support to the production group during both product launch and on-going production and addresses any issues in a timely and complete manner
• Assists production in all production related issues affecting the customer
• Assists quality in all quality-related issues
• Participates in the identification and selection of production equipment and processes
• Maintains professional, cooperative relationships with employees, suppliers, outsourced personnel and customers
• Complies with corporate policies and procedures
• Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job

• Proven ability in the engineered products production industry as it applies to planning and scheduling.
• Significant experience with management planning and goal setting.
• High level of ability with database, spreadsheets or other analysis tools.
• Ability to deal tactfully with human issues in vendors, peers and particularly customers.
• Ability to create and maintain team building relationships within the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
• Consistently demonstrate the ability to recognize and respond to changing priorities.
