This year, EMI has made a commitment to encourage some important resolutions for every-body. By making just a few lifestyle changes, you can greatly improve your health and overall wellbeing.

Here are some easy, important tips to help make 2015 your happiest year yet.

Control Your Portions

You can easily downsize your physique by simply downsizing your meal porwellness resolutionstions. Studies show that using smaller plates and bowls encourages you to take less food, ultimately avoiding overeating and contributing to weight loss.

Be More Active

Each and every day, make it a priority to be more active—even if it’s minor additions. In addition to contributing to weight loss, physical activity helps to prevent diseases, improves your mood, gives you more energy and can help you sleep better.

To encourage yourself to be more active throughout the day, consider wearing a step counter and set goals of how many steps you’d like to reach by the end of the day. According to Everyday Health, you can burn up to 200 calories on just a 30-minute brisk walk!

Strength Train

Adding just 10 extra minutes of strength training a day to your exercise routine helps you burn calories in less time, boosts energy, promotes stronger bones and can even lead to a faster metabolism. A few exercises you could add on include:

  • Push-ups with side plank
  • Front lunges with chest flies
  • Squats with overhead shoulder presses

Expect Good Things From Yourself

Having strong expectations for yourself is important to both your physical and mental health. Don’t let yourself get discouraged, as this can keep you from reaching your personal goals. Enhancing your health and lifestyle takes time and patience—don’t give up!

Encourage yourself; support each other; improve together—let’s make 2015 great!
