We have a current job opening for a Continuous Improvement Integrator (experienced candidates only) at our Sterling Heights, MI facility:
JOB IMPACT
The CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT INTEGRATOR impacts the day to day operations and the company’s long term growth and profitability through auditing activities, consistent follow-through of in-process documentation and quality monitoring on the job floor. This position will help to focus and lead all training activities for the manufacturing floor.
Requirements for this position:
- Experience required: Minimum 4 years experience in a shop environment with some type of formalized 5S and/or Kaizen training.
- Education required: Associates Degree (in Quality preferred) or 4 years work equivalency.
- Superior skills in MSOffice programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Skills, knowledge or abilities: Read, write & speak the English language fluently.
- Knowledge and interpretation of GD&T.
- Skills, Knowledge or abilities – Read, write and speak the English language fluently
- A strong commitment to success with a “can do / will do” attitude
- Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities concurrently, ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a multi-task environment
- Ability to work with practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Review line up and address any concerns with Supervisor.
- Develop, implement and monitor training programs to enhance plant wide systems.
- Integrate and continuously improve Job Traveler process and associated Training corporate wide, including all new hires.
- Actively Maintain Training documentation including tracking matrices.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing Team (5S / Kaizen) including tracking of measurables.
- Assist in maintaining ISO compliance measures & assure others do the same.
- Actively participate in both Product and Process Auditing including compliance to written policies, dock and work in process audits.
- Independently complete PPAP deliverables (Warrant, FMEA, Inspection Records, etc.)
- Read and interpret GD&T and Blueprints for inspection criteria.
- Lead and encourage corporate wide participation in proactive problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Lead by example.
- Check parts and make good / bad interpretation as required with supporting verification.
- Actively participate in daily manufacturing quality and lean related activities and initiatives (Job Traveler, Control Plan and Electronic Time Ticket Entry.) Continuously monitor all systems for improvements and waste reduction.
- Effectively organize and maintain electronic and paper quality records for personal & shared usage following all corporate guidelines.
- Design, implement and maintain a nonconforming material system and documentation including measurable scrap/rework data.
- Communicate with next shift to report any problems encountered. Update supervisor.
- Maintain continuous improvement in quality & productivity.
- Put safety first – always wear all required protective equipment (including safety glasses) and follow proper department procedures.
